Last week, LabEdu took part in the 1st Pedagogical Journey for Elementary Education, promoted by the São Paulo Municipal Department of Education at the Regional Board of Education (DRE) of Guaianases, located in the eastern zone of the city. The event brought together teachers, administrators, and support teams from the network’s educational units, and had as its theme “Educating with the Territory: knowledge that is transformed and historically articulated from the subjects – valuing knowledge and practices in different territories”, to reflect on essential aspects for ensuring the learning rights established in the City Curriculum.
Nicole Paulet, LabEdu’s director, and Carla Tocchet, Coordinator of Methodologies and Projects, took part in a panel that also included practice reports from the network, bringing the perspectives together. At the meeting, they presented LabEdu’s approach to language as a tool for teaching and learning, based on evidence from the methodology of the Learning to Study Texts project, which has been implemented in the network’s schools since the beginning of this year.
