Between July 3 and 4, the seminar National Parameters for Quality and Equity in the daily practice of Early Childhood Education – Regional – Southeast II brought together education professionals, managers, and researchers. The meeting, held by the Secretariat of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education (SEB/MEC), aims to promote collaborative management of early childhood education based on the National Commitment to Quality and Equity for Early Childhood Education. Participants were able to propose and discuss initiatives that make it possible to implement collaborative federative governance of Early Childhood Education.
Beatriz Cardoso, Director of Labedu, moderated a panel on the pedagogical challenges of the National Parameters for Quality and Equity in the daily practice of Early Childhood Education. During the event, Beatriz proposed the following reflection: how can we ensure that children have access to the right to have stories read to them every day?
The panel included representatives from the municipal secretariats of São Paulo, Mariana Lima; Barretos, Mirka Costa; Olímpia, Jessica Santos; and Guarulhos, Minéa Fratelli. The debate focused on municipal experiences in providing high-quality Early Childhood Education.
“We saw incredible experiences here. Today, the country has a body of knowledge and administrations that are doing a great deal, but we need to move further in how we look at implementation. We need to understand how to create a learning process for the teacher while also creating it for the child,” Beatriz challenged.
