Throughout 2020, Itaú Social conducted the study “Studies and evidence on the potential and limitations of using children’s digital books” in partnership with the Education Laboratory.
“It would be encouraging to imagine that a literature review on the effects of children’s digital books on the development of children aged 0 to 10 could provide a definitive answer to the question that has accompanied discussions on learning and child development for more than two decades: do children’s digital books bring more benefits to children’s education than printed books?
Based on an educational perspective that considers children’s holistic development, and guided by our reading of 73 texts found in databases that aggregate scientific and academic production, the answer we have reached so far may seem somewhat disheartening: it depends.”
