The City of São Paulo distributed, for the first time, a kit of materials for families and students enrolled in the literacy cycle (1st, 2nd, and 3rd years of Elementary School) to encourage learning during the school holiday period. The material was produced through a cooperation agreement with the Education Laboratory.
Around 140,000 families will benefit from the materials:
- the City of Childhoods album, produced especially for this initiative;
- three maps from the Territories of Exploration platform, delivered in printed format;
- the book Where Is My Dog, made available for the first time in a physical edition.
The City of Childhoods album is a colorful, illustrated book with spaces for adults and children to record outings, access tips, draw, play, and interact. The Territories of Exploration maps offer routes around the city of São Paulo with outings focused on diversity, nature, and street fairs and markets, which can be explored to enhance learning.
The kit of materials supports and creates contexts with families so that children can be encouraged during everyday activities and so that new opportunities for dialogue between families, children, and the school can be opened.
