In the month when school holidays begin, animated shorts that tell travel stories, in all their different possibilities!
It’s no coincidence that we use “travel” as slang for someone who seems to be in another reality. When we travel — whether to another city, state, country, or continent — we change context and everything around us is no longer familiar. That’s why traveling provides many learning opportunities, from learning different accents, languages, and music to seeing and eating new things.
In the month of the beginning of the summer holidays, we have selected animated shorts that portray different aspects of travel:
Madagascar, Travel Notebook (Madagascar, Carnet de voyage)
by Bastien Dubois
This animation, as the title says, is like a travel notebook, which records moments and memories of a trip to Madagascar, in Africa. Through the traveler's sensitive records, we also feel like we can take a little stroll around the country.
Only Slightly Exaggerated
by Ansel Wallenfang and Nick Stokes
Sometimes when we travel, things are so different from what we’re used to that they almost seem fantastical. This animation plays on this, claiming to be “just a little bit exaggerated” in its portrayal.
Travel Channel Little Journeys – Outdoors
by Perfect Tribe
The feeling this animation conveys is one of freedom. Traveling on vacation can also mean taking some time away from the city and traffic to enjoy nature walks, even if they are not too far from home.
