On August 14, Labedu took part in the Regional Seminar National Parameters for Quality and Equity in Early Childhood Education Northeast II, held in Salvador (BA). Promoted by the Ministry of Education (MEC), the meeting brought together representatives of public education networks, administrators, and civil society organizations to discuss the challenges and pathways for implementing the national parameters for quality and equity in early childhood education.
Beatriz Cardoso, Labedu’s director, joined the panel National Parameters for Quality and Equity in the day-to-day of Early Childhood Education: Pedagogical Challenges, alongside Lídice Rodrigues, administrator of the Criança Feliz Municipal School, and Núbia Lira, early childhood education coordinator at the Municipal Department of Education of Aracaju. The session was moderated by João Luiz Dória, president of Undime/SE.
During her remarks, Beatriz highlighted the importance of coordination among different actors and initiatives to ensure consistent progress on the ground. “It is the sum of many initiatives that ensures improvements on the ground and helps us secure the rights that must be guaranteed. It is essential to look at this sum and, at the same time, identify where progress occurs more effectively, quickly, and consistently. The partnership between Labedu and Maranhão’s Seduc, within the context of the collaboration regime, is a successful example of this. Joint action between civil society and government in implementing the continuing education policy for early childhood education. This collaboration directly contributes to advancing knowledge. We join forces and learn from one another,” she said.
Participation in the event marks the continuation of Labedu’s engagement in regional debates on the national parameters. In July, Beatriz represented the organization at the Southeast edition of the seminar, held in São Paulo, where experiences from different municipalities were shared regarding the pedagogical challenges of early childhood education.
