If you are an Early Childhood Education professional or passionate about the topic, you already know how important daily reading is for children, do you not? The scientific literature in the field and the experience of teachers and families have shown for decades how essential reading to a child is for them to develop language from Early Childhood. And this development, in turn, will be decisive for them to be able to learn many more things throughout life, in and out of school.
For this reason, we invite you to reflect: do the children around you have the opportunity to read a book every day?
We know they love to repeat their favourite stories, so you do not need a huge collection of books to ensure daily reading. It is necessary to set aside time in the routine, whether at the school or at home, and have an adult who is interested in doing the reading.
So, how about we start March with this goal of one book every day for children?
With 20 minutes a day, you can reach the end of the month with more than 10 hours of reading! Imagine how much vocabulary can be learned, and how bonds can be strengthened! Here, we have a strong hunch that you will want to repeat this goal in April, May, June…
