In early October, following their participation in the annual ProLEER meeting in Santiago , Labedu directors Andrea Guida, Beatriz Cardoso, and Nicole Paulet continued their research and experience-sharing efforts in Chile. These visits are part of Labedu's cooperation agenda with Latin American partners, showcasing their initiatives and learning about diverse experiences in research, innovation, and the implementation of public education policies focused on teacher training.
During the visit, the team was received by the Dean of the Faculty of Education at Universidad Diego Portales, the Brazilian professor and researcher Paula Louzano. On the immersion day, the educators delved into the curriculum for initial teacher training in early childhood and elementary education, through exchanges with the coordinators of the respective programs, as well as visiting classes in various subjects of the Pedagogy course. Materials and experiences from Labedu were shared, especially regarding monitoring and evaluation.
For Andrea Guida, director of Labedu, the international collaboration in Chile was fundamental to broadening institutional perspectives.
The team also participated in a study group with doctoral students in psychology focused on early childhood, discussing research methodologies on program implementation, including usability studies, feasibility, and optimization of educational interventions. In addition, they visited Focus, a Chilean consultancy that develops programs in partnership with the public sector and NGOs, and EduLab, an initiative linked to the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile aimed at bridging academic research with concrete problems in education, encouraging partnerships between researchers and organizations.
The visits allowed Labedu to strengthen connections with Latin American initiatives, expanding its knowledge of teacher training, public education policies, applied research, and program implementation, thus strengthening the dialogue between evidence, practice, and public policy.
