From July 8-10, the Brazilian Literacy Association (ABALF) held “Making Sense of Literacy: What We Know, What We Do, What We Want,” a conference that debated literacy-related challenges in Brazil. The event was attended by 556 people from all regions of the country, and focused on theoretical and empirical issues related to educational research, practice, and public policy.
For Laboratório de Educação, the event provided a deeper understanding of the National Pact for Literacy at the Right Age (PNAIC), itself the subject of a roundtable discussion.
