The Glossary of Literacy Terms released by the Center for Literacy, Reading and Writing (CEALE) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais is an innovative publication that seeks to promote more clarity and precision in the practice of literacy instruction.
CEALE sought input and expertise from a variety of education professionals that could add to the collective understanding of the complexities of learning to read and write. The authors expressed their desire to compile relevant theoretical and empirical knowledge on the topic into a single glossary that could help practitioners enhance their impact in the classroom.
Beatriz Cardoso, president of Laboratório de Educação authored the section on literary mediation in preschool education.
