As part of the Reading and Writing in Early Childhood Project, researchers from the Federal Universities of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro released a free online version of professional development materials created in partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
The eight-volume collection seeks to provide teachers with knowledge and tools to create meaningful learning experiences that promote young children’s appropriation of oral and written language.
In Volume 5, Laboratório de Educação specialists Ana Teberosky and Angélica Sepúlveda review the most updated academic literature on instructional practices that use children’s books to advance language development.
