On May 2014, the Federal Universities of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, in partnership with the Brazilian Ministry of Education, held the first international seminar on literature and pre-school education, with the aim of advancing theoretical discussions on early literacy instruction.
This year, the organizers published an e-book with the papers that were presented at the conference. Educational experts, including Beatriz Cardoso and Angélica Sepúlveda, from Laboratório de Educação submitted contributions to analyze pedagogical practices that promote early reading and writing skills.
