In 2016, Beatriz Cardoso was invited to participate in the global Alliance for Teachers, a working group comprised of 10 international leaders. Through yearlong collaboration kicked off by an inaugural meeting at the Varkey Foundation's Global Education & Skills Forum in Dubai, the group produced a white paper to guide policymakers in enacting teacher reform.
In the foreword, Professor Fernando Reimers from the Harvard Graduate School of Education introduces three key concepts: dialogue, system, and collective action. In his view, dialogue enables organizations and individuals to learn from knowledge produced through research, and connect it to teaching policies and practice. In defending a systemic perspective, Reimers claims that meaningful transformation will only come about through collective action taken at all levels of teachers' and educators' support networks
Cardoso was joined by experts and policy-makers, such as the Minister of Education of Argentina, Esteban Bullrich, and the Director of Teacher Education at University of Helsinki, Jari Lavonen. Access the publication here.
