Celebrating the program that mixes storytelling, animations and live dynamics!
During Black Awareness Month, Curtas que Arrebatam recalls some episodes of the program Livros Animados, from Canal Futura, all under the umbrella of the transversal project “A Cor da Cultura”, which places blackness at the center of the programming.
The Color of Culture is a project that promotes Afro-Brazilian culture. It was created in 2004 through a partnership between Canal Futura, the Center for Information and Documentation of Black Artists, the Ministry of Education, the Palmares Foundation, Petrobras, TV Globo and Seppir – the Secretariat for Policies to Promote Racial Equality. The project is implemented through a series of educational and pedagogical resources aimed at both inside and outside of schools, such as teacher training notebooks and television programs.
Livros Animados is a children's reading incentive program that combines storytelling, book animations and live playful dynamics among a group of children aged 5 to 9, together with the presenter Vanessa Pascale. The initiative emphasizes the importance of representation for such a large portion of the Brazilian population, and the relevance of teaching Afro-Brazilian and African history and culture , which has been law since 2003.
We selected a chapter from each season of the celebrated program, which ran from 2004 to 2013. Each episode features two books, always with black protagonists.
We invite you and your little ones to enjoy these stories:
